ABOUT

xDefiant is a fast-pace Arena first person shooter, with a range of interesting Factions based on existing Ubisoft IPs - each Faction has a set of 3 unique characters and 2 abilities, 1 ultra. This, tied with realistic gun-play, make for a game that is incredibly interesting and complex to work on.

My main responsibilities on this project included team lead/management of two technical art teams (riggin and factions/game-modes) - I was responsible for driving the overall delivery of high quality game ready assets for rigging (characters, weapons, props) as well as animation systems, prototype vfx for Factions and game modes.

The main launched feature I developed was the in-game/engine facial rigging which utilises proprietery tools to create a robust and clean wholistic facial animation system. This system requires a keen eye and a depth of fine tuning to ensure each characters facial expressions read the same across all of our facial animations in the front end and in game.
